This year’s 50th Anniversary marked a major milestone for the Ann Arbor Film Festival - and provided my Bang! crew with a challenge of how to top our lobby installations from the past three years. Included here are the sketches and mock-ups that went into it. Major props to Mary Thiefels at Tree Town Murals for painting the killer aperture that ended up being the focus of our stair design - as well at Lisa Waud at Pot and Box for the gorgeous flowers arrangements. Happy to know that we helped make the fest so special. Now back to my own endeavors - including finally kickin’ out my web store. T-minus SOON!

Really looking forward to debuting a bunch of never-before-seen stuff at Flatstock 33 in Austin this week. While last year I hitched a ride with my screenprinters - the great VG Kids - this time I’ll have my own booth - showcasing 10+ years of posters. Should be super cool since a lot of my work really hasn’t been seen outside of Michigan before. Looking forward to chatting with more people throughout the week in one of the best cities around. Above is my poster for this year’s convention. You can grab your own copy by stopping by the BANG! MEDIA booth or keeping your eye on my online shop.

Location: Austin Convention Center Level 1 - Ballrooms A, B, C

Hours:

Wednesday 3/14 2:00pm - 6:00pm

Thursday 3/15 - Saturday 3/17 11:00am - 6:00pm

Just completed my new Love Hangover poster. This one’s a companion piece to last year’s. Let’s see if I can continue these robotic love birds’ tale in ‘13.

Here’s my poster for Detroit’s Jonathan Toubin Benefit show, along with some of the other posters for Benefit shows happening around the country. For those who don’t know, Jonathan, a beloved soul dj out of NYC, was critically hurt in a freak accident in Portland and could use financial help from all the people he’s entertained in the past. As it happens, he dj’ed the Bruise Cruise, which my wife and I took on our honeymoon.

SPOT MY ARTWORK IN SCREAM 4
Backstory: Last summer, Wes Craven made Ann Arbor his home while shooting Scream 4. As luck would have it, the art director spotted some of my poster work at Vault of Midnight and contracted the use of around 20 pieces of artwork to use on the set. Above is a collection of screengrabs from the film’s two trailers pointing out what they used in the production. Can’t wait to see them on the big screen. Thanks Michigan Film Incentives - you were great while you lasted. <sigh>
